As an award-winning newspaper and brand cartoonist, I’ve brought my visual storytelling experiences into teaching ( which I love). I’ve run sessions for children at Great Ormond St hospital, teenagers with cancer, in one-to-one sessions with CEOs, and at corporate team-building events.

And in every scenario I have seen the change in peoples’ moods. the noise and clutter of todays’ busy world disappearing as people become calm, in the moment, and creativity flows. You don’t have to be good at drawing. You just have to pick up a pen!

The goal isn’t to stop the monster. The goal is to smile, even after the mistake, and reset for the next moment. Every golfer makes mistakes. Elite performance isn’t usually about avoiding mistakes. it’s about recovering from them quickly.

“The monster in your head” is an example of one of the Cartoonfulness exercises that will help you a little with your golf. There are more, they are fun, and you will take the cartoons away and have them as a reminder.

I can’t make you a better golfer, but I can make you see the way you play a little differently. My 30 years telling stories through cartoons has taught me how to reframe things in a way that lifts moods and removes stress.
